‘Control’ (new poem)

Short one today. This is the longest Monday to date, and I’m constantly surprised it’s not Tuesday yet. Anyways, here’s a poem shorter than this explanatory paragraph. Enjoy!

Control
by Maggie McGinity

My eyes consume your face.
Your eyes consume my soul.
This path, we can retrace,
But we cannot control.”

A relevant 90s music quote:

“I don’t care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I’m not around.
You’re so very special.
I wish I was special.”
-“Creep” by Radiohead
