‘Turn of Time'(new poem)

I got off work early and had enough time to run home and take a nap before opening night(tonight!) of the play I’m in. Hurray! Not to mention I found out that I got an awesome score on a big test I thought I did badly on. All this excitement demands poetry. Enjoy!

Turn of Time
By Maggie McGinity

The sun bursting through
Dense clouds of despair and doom,
Is this turn of time.

The work completed,
The pat-on-back I needed.
Freedom without crime.

Tonight, it will be
Fan-tastic, so lov-e-ly.
Bright lights, world apart.

Hundreds of their eyes.
Sold out without compromise.
What a perfect start.”

Quotes:

“Even in the familiar there can be surprise and wonder.”
-Tierney Gearon

“Our brightest blazes of gladness are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks.”
-Samuel Johnson
