Maggie’s Pick 8.21.2014: ‘Higher’ by Creed

What does this song have to do with dreams?

Well, the second word in the whole song is “dreaming,” it’s kind of a theme.

“Set up high, I’m strong enough to take these dreams
And make them mine”

Also, I hate this video. I don’t like the jerky, sudden shot transitions, and I really don’t like performance videos, and this is both. However, this is the official video for this song, and as the song must be shared, so shall the video be shared.

Maggie’s Pick 8.13.14: ‘Believe in Me’ by Staind

“Believe in me, ’cause I was made for chasing dreams.”

This song has been stuck in my head for the last week, and was the inspiration for this dream-themed week of picks.

I’m looking forward to maybe not being the underdog for the rest of my life, or at least maybe this year.

Maggie’s Pick 8.12.14: ‘Don’t Wake Me’ by Skillet

This song is especially relevant today, as I slept more than usual in an eye strain recovery attempt, ended up waking up with a migraine, and actually dreamed about a few different people last night.

I can never choose who I dream about when I’m not conscious, and I’m not very good about choosing who I dream about when I am conscious. Oh well. I still have music.

Maggie’s Pick 8.11.14: ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries

Today starts a weeklong series of picks with the theme of Dreams. Apologies for the last two weeks, I’ve been largely without the Internet and free time, two things I need in order to blog.

At some point in elementary school, I was obsessed with this song. At my dance studio, one of the older classes danced to this song for part of our annual dance recital. I always heard it, loved it, had no idea what it was called or who sang it. I’ve always cherished finding it again as an adult.
