Apparently you’re not supposed to “sweat the small stuff,” mountains and molehills and all that jazz. One of the best ways I’ve heard of to determine if something is small stuff is to ask yourself, “Will this matter in an hour? Will it matter in a day? In a month? In a year? In five years?”
Most of the stuff I’ve been worrying about recently really won’t matter in a year, or even in half a year. But some of these things, I can’t say if they’ll matter in 5 years or not.
I like this song because of that. All the uncertainty.
“In five years time, I might not know you
In five years time, we might not speak
In five years time, we might not get along
In five years time, you might just prove me wrong”
Good thing? Bad thing? We’ll find out.
