Maggie’s Pick 2.27.2015: The Color Picks: “Gold On The Ceiling” by The Black Keys
I’m glad I remembered how to remember this.
Maggie’s Pick 2.26.2015: The Color Picks: “Over the Hills And Far Away” by Led Zeppelin
“Many dreams come true and some have silver linings
I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.”
Yup.
New Poem: “Monday & Tuesday” by Maggie McGinity
I had a couple of nightmares for the past 2 nights, and I decided to write a poem about them and the general uncertainty of my life.
Twinning Pick can be found here.
“Monday & Tuesday
By Maggie McGinity
Bar the door, please don’t let them in
You were never supposed to leave
Now my head’s splitting at the seams
And I don’t know if I can”
Maggie’s Pick 2.25.2015: The Color Picks: “It’s Gonna Be Hard” by The Audition
A Twinning Pick that will actually work this time because I already wrote the poem, and will post it later tonight.
There’s yellow on the album cover:
I love this loophole.
I think I’ve been saving this song for a rainier day, but it fits well with the poem I wrote, and with my current travel plans.
Maggie’s Pick 2.24.2015: The Color Picks: “Ocean Avenue” by Yellowcard
Bad dreams, dangerous dinner conversations, a beach, and nostalgia for summer.
Also electric violin.
Maggie’s Pick 2.23.2015: The Color Picks: “Gold Digger” by Kanye West ft. Jamie Foxx + “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” by The Offspring
My title is too long and I don’t care.
Opposite problems, and earlier conversations. One theme-related song, and one song related to that.
This video is everything you’d expect it to be, and is also 10 years old.
I really enjoy this video and this song.
Maggie’s Pick 2.22.2015: “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John
Not an Elton John song I’ve listened to a lot, but really fitting for a lot of things. A good song overall, I like the melodic twists.
Maggie’s Pick 2.20.2015: The Color Picks: “Kiss Me” by Ed Sheeran
Maggie’s Pick 2.19.2015: The Color Picks: “Gray or Blue” by Jaymay
Five months and one day ago, I scheduled a study session with a friend at the library.
I thought about Picking this song then, as a sort of hint, but then I decided I was done hinting. (I was also a bit concerned about the lyrics in this song that imply other people and cheating, because that’s not what this was/is/will be about)
Later that day I decided I was done trying to make things more than they were. I didn’t put in my contacts, didn’t put on makeup, didn’t brush my hair, because I figured it didn’t matter.
And as it turned out, it didn’t. Just not in the way I expected.
Also, I know they’re sometimes gray, and sometimes blue, but usually green. Like mine.
